Business Resources

Early on, Frankenmuth's settlers recognized the need to pull together, successfully building schools, neighborhoods and a budding commercial center.  Working together remains a critical component of today's business climate, with multiple organizations providing resources for growing businesses.  In addition to locally based organizations, Frankenmuth has a good working relationship with other agencies in the Great Lakes Bay Region and in the State of Michigan.

The Frankenmuth DDA  concentrates on the economic vitality of the Downtown Development District, including the established commercial and tourism districts. The Board serves as a liaison between the business community and City Government.  The EDC focuses its efforts on business retention and new business development in non-tourism  businesses, primarily outside of the DDA district.  The EDC seeks to diversify the local tax base and create new non-tourism jobs.  The work of the boards is coordinated by Sheila Stamiris, who serves as City staff for all development projects. Stamiris can help you with Frankenmuth site selection, financial and incentive packaging and general community development information,
